On Friday 29th June the Dore Open event started with the official opening by the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Steven Varley. The next day, the fabulous exhibition opened to the public with many Masonic artefacts and interesting displays and although Saturday was unexpectedly quite, Sunday was much busier and lots of people came through the door to discover what Freemasonry is about. Representatives from Women’s Freemasonry were on hand to answer questions about their organisation.Tuesday 3rd saw a presentation by Mike Neville entitled ” Jack the Ripper, Jack the Mason”
The week will continue with a second public presentation on the 4th July at 7.30pm.
Several people have already expressed an interest in joining and members of the community have welcomed the opportunity to see what the organisation is really about. There will be other similar events taking place throughout Derbyshire this year.
