A Major Grant of £48,000 was approved to fund the purchase of a Crusader ambulance in Ashbourne in memory of Harold Litchfield, whose bequest within the Provincial Charity will meet the cost. |
The Provincial Grand Treasurer, W. Bro. Eric Mitchell, reported that additional funds towards the RMTGB Festival had been received since the Festival took place, and that they would be credited to the total. The Provincial Charity Steward, W. Bro. John Renshaw advised Lodge Charity Stewards to limit their contributions to their Lodges’ previous commitments. He also undertook to produce a revised summary of Lodge donations which you will find in the next edition of the Derbyshire Circle.
The Provincial Almoner, W. Bro. Brian Carter, reported that the appointment of the two Assistant Almoners (reported in April) had proved effective, with contacts now established with every Almoner in the Province.
The Secretary, W. Bro.Graham Sisson, reported that the R.W. Provincial Grand Master had approved the two nominations for support by the 2003 Carol Service, namely Cavendish Sensory Garden, Buxton, and the Alfreton Parkwood Special School. Please ensure that your Lodge pays over the proceeds of the sale of Carol Sheets as soon as they have been sold, to enable early payment of the grants.
