Contact W. Bro John Renshaw, the Chairman of the
Appeals Sub-Committee, for information or advice on any question at any time
(tel: 01629 823 155).
The intention was to give every Lodge an equivalent
task, with an equal amount to be raised by every Brother. Therefore each
Lodge had a target, which allocated the overall Festival target of £1M
fairly between all Lodges on a per capita basis, after taking into account
dual membership.
According to information provided by the Trust on
31st December, 2000, we have raised the sum of £658,000. This figure
includes interest of almost £66,000, clearly showing the value of sending
Lodge donations to the Trust as early as possible. These donations sent via the Provincial Grand Treasurer at the Provincial Office
in Derby. |
|
Brethren were encouraged to support the Festival by purchasing Festival ties
and lapel pins, at a cost respectively (including postage) of £5 and £2.50. |

Cheques were payable to

Brethren also obtained them from their Lodge Charity Stewards. |

The Grand Festival was held at the Assembly Rooms, Derby
on Wednesday 4th June 2003. The President and
Secretary of the MTGB attended, together with other members of the Board
and United Grand Lodge,
and the Provincial Grand Master presided over the event. |
|
Brothers became Festival
Stewards by donating a minimum of £50 towards the Appeal, and
on payment of a Steward’s Fee of £12. Ladies and Lewises qualified by making
a donation of at least £25, together with the same Steward’s Fee. The
fee included Festival jewels for Brethren (which could be worn in Derbyshire
Craft Lodges until the date of the Festival and of course at the festival
itself), and brooches for ladies. |
