Bert
to close a chapter- They will have been impressed by his willing and helpful disposition, his considerable depth of Masonic knowledge and for that uncanny knack he has for putting his hands precisely on chapter and verse be it for a structured talk or simply to satisfy curiosity. And so after 15 years of continuous effort during which he has not only built, but rebuilt our Provincial library, Bert has decided to retire from his position with effect from October 2005, although he will still be seen helping around the library. Everyone will no doubt join in congratulating and thanking Bert for all the work he has done in the capacity of Provincial Librarian, particularly its rebuilding after the very damaging fire of 1990 and for which he received later the Provincial Grand Master's Certificate for Services to Freemasonry in Derbyshire. Bert's unstinting work has helped build for the Province a resource we can all be justly proud.
