Bill’s
Masonic career began in the
West
Riding
Province
where he was initiated into Nevil-Talbot Lodge No. 4092 in 1973 and
reached the Chair in 1985.
Following
his Exaltation into Chantrey Chapter at Dore
in 1979 he began to pursue his Derbyshire career by becoming a Founder
Member of Sure and Stedfast Lodge in 1984,
assuming the Chair in 1987.
He
was appointed Provincial Grand Standard Bearer in 1994, Provincial Senior
Grand Warden in 1994 and Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies in 1996,
an office he only relinquished on his appointment as Assistant Provincial
Grand Master in 2005. He received Grand Lodge honours in 1997 with the
appointment to Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies.
He
reached the First Principal’s chair in Chantrey Chapter in 1991 and was
appointed as Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 1996 and
promoted to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer in 2000.
He is a member of several other Orders in both
Derbyshire and the West Riding provinces.
