There are many Masonic Charities concerned with specific needs. The large ones
with which you are most likely to be dealing are:
 |
The Grand Charity
which
provides ongoing financial assistance towards daily living expenses of
Freemasons and their dependants. Application forms will be provided by
Provincial Office, usually following a Provincial application. |
 |
The New Masonic Samaritan Fund
which provides hospital treatment and support for Freemasons and their
dependants. This may be arranged locally. Application may be through
Provincial Office but a telephone call to 020
7404 1550 will usually get the application forms
in the post to you. A decision will usually be given within two weeks of the
completed forms being returned by you. |
 |
The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution
which administers residential and nursing homes for Freemasons and their
dependants. It provides annuities for those who qualify and care in the
community if required. Application should normally be made through Provincial
Office. Short time stays to provide a break for Carers may be arranged when
circumstances allow. Direct contact with the Home concerned will quickly
establish the details. |
 |
The Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys
which satisfies the educational needs and preparation for life of young
dependants of Freemasons as their fathers would have done. Application should
be via Provincial Office and made as quickly as possible. Any delay only
increases the considerable stress under which the young orphans are placed. |
Applications from petitioners who live in a different
Province will usually be administered by a Brother in, and designated by, that
Province, after liaison between Provincial Grand Secretaries. This arrangement
has worked very well for many years.
