In 1917, our Mother Lodge - Rutland, celebrated its 50th Anniversary, and the Secretary at that time was Bro. P. G. Godfrey, who had a 4 year old son - William Wing Godfrey. That son was initiated into this Lodge on 27th March 1944 and was its distinguished Secretary for many years. He died in 1995 having achieved his Masonic life's ambition of being Secretary of his Lodge on its 50th Anniversary, as was his father in the Rutland Lodge - 79 years earlier. He was elected Honorary Member in 1993.

After the death of W. Bro. Gordon Taylor in 1982, we were left without the guidance of a Grand Lodge Officer, but he was replaced by a regular visitor whom we readily accepted and respected, and who was elected an Honorary Member in September 1985. More recently, we have also been pleased to welcome another Grand Lodge Officer to support him.
