The design of the original banner was based on the Great Seal of the
Borough, namely a "pomegranate fructed". The banner was embroidered and presented
by Miss Ryde, sister of Bro.
G. H. Ryde, a P. M. of the Scarsdale Lodge. As this
banner was becoming soiled and split, W.Bro. A. R. R. Slack presented a new one
at
a ceremony held on 10th March, 1947, with W.Bro. J. E. McKay in the Chair. The
new banner was designed by the makers and incorporates the original pomegranate
design. |

This in turn was superseded by the current banner,
which was dedicated by the then Right Worshipful Provincial Grand
Master, David Charles Law, on the 9th January 1995. |
